One of the major companies providing live entertainment for attractions in the United States is Windish Music and Productions. The company mostly develops resident shows for parks and attractions but also books major acts. According to CEO Mike Windish, when considering where entertainment should be located, it’s important for an attraction to consider its goals. For example, Hersheypark presents music performances on a stage centrally located at the entrance to its popular Boardwalk area. The setting captures foot traffic passing through and provides value for its guests. But Hersheypark also wanted to bring some activity to The Hollow, a quieter area that park managers felt was underutilized. Windish Music & Productions recently provided the entertainment for the 2017 International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) Brass Ring Awards for the fourth time since 2013. The Windish Music Dueling Pianists provided walk-on music for the Brass Ring awards winners. The awards are presented to amusement parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, museums, family entertainment centers (FECs), and suppliers from around the world to honor excellence in food and beverage, games and retail, human resources, live entertainment, marketing, new products, and exhibits.

Additionally, the two-time Brass Ring Award-winning “EdZOOcation Team,” produced by Windish Music for Hersheypark, was nominated for Best Live Edutainment. Windish Music has won six Brass Ring Awards since 2009.

Representatives from Windish Music also provided their expertise at the “Entertainment Open House”, helping to find creative solutions to challenges facing the entertainment industry.

The show, a partnership between Windish Music, Holland America Line®, and Billboard, uses the talents of world-class musicians to showcase chart topping hits from the past 50 years.
